Ss Patrick & Columba CROSS OF KELLS, the most remarkable of the High Crosses of Kells. The monastery was founded in 804 AD by monks from St Colmcille’s Iona, which also housed the Book of Kells.
The cross is 3.3m high and is still located at Kells.
The Ahenny Cross
is unlike other crosses to be found in Ireland. All over the head and shaft of the cross are elaborate design, spiral, interlace and fret.
Many think the original must have been coloured for the marvellous work of the sculptor to be fully appreciated.
St Martin’s Cross
In the seventh century the tiny isle of Iona in Scotland had the largest library in Europe and there were reputed to have been 300 crosses there.
There are now only three left the most famous being dedicated to St Martin of Tours

“Only faith can guarantee the blessings you hope for.”
Through seeking union with another I am challenged to find myself.
As I find the real me I am better able to unite with the beloved.
Love alone is capable of uniting human beings in such a way as to complete and fulfil them, for it takes them and joins them by what is deepest in themselves.Love needs dreams, wonder, exploration, and imagination. By the love of man and woman a thread is woven that will reach to the very heart of the universe.
