Sheila’s Home Made Ice Cream

Our ice cream is made from skimmed milk. No egg or animal fat.

Healthy and absolutely delicious.

“Your ice cream was so good I just had to come back for more” (summer cyclist).

One of our first customers on Barra, our self caterers sampling the goods and, not to be outdone, a Wallace Arnold Shearings coachload of tourists in North Uist. The proprietor likes it too!

In four flavours:-

Vanilla, Strawberry (from real strawberries), Mint choc chip (the locals’ favourite) and

Vanilla with raspberries (in shop only - the visitors’ and Sheila’s favourite)

From the shop at Brevig and in van runs and shows in Barra and the Uists

99’s

Add a flake to our delicious ice cream cornet and you have a ‘99’

Double Nougat and Oyster

The all time favourite is the double nougat (nugget) but oysters are rapidly rising in popularity:-

 Ice Cream Drinks with our home made vanilla ice cream. Choice of:-

Ginger Beer (Sheila’s favourite), Irn Bru (also very good) Coke ( a ‘spider’), lemonade (you never go wrong with this)

We don’t just drop a dollop of ice cream in your drink. We shake it in our mixer and you get a much more refreshing and enjoyable drink from the same ingredients

Milk Shakes

Not flavoured milk but a proper frothy milk shake with or without ice cream

Made with semi skimmed milk, the healthy drink option. Refreshing, delicious.

Parlies ( ‘moreish’) traditional recipe from the historic Scottish Parliament, adjourned in 1707, reconvened in 1999. We had two visitors who walked all the way from the Isle of Barra Hotel to come back for more!
