SOCIETY MEMBERSHIP
AIMS

1.  To save Each nan Eilean from extinction, to conserve the breed and to procure, by controlled breeding good specimens of Each nan Eilean in the future.

2. To set up, maintain and operate a Register of Horses .

3:-

(i)   To promote study into the history, origin and characteristics of Each nan Eilean.

(ii)  to encourage the use of Each nan Eilean for work and recreation especially in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland and particularly in their natural habitat on the Isle of Eriskay and neighbouring islands.

(iii)   to provide support for the crofter/pony breeder there.  

(iv)    to establish & maintain a commercial future for the breed    

(v)   to publicise Each nan Eilean progressively throughout the world

Membership is open to all who support the aims of the Society and agree to abide by its constitution and rules. Membership discount rates for registration, certificates and passports are enjoyed by and open to all members. However to protect the integrity of our studbook and to enable the organisation to function effectively voting at general meetings is restricted to members within the Outer Hebrides (Na h-Eileanan an Iar). thereby ensuring that control of our organisation cannot pass outwith the pony’s natural habitat in the Outer Hebrides.

Eriskay Pony organisations may become affiliated body members, subject to Society constitution and rules and individuals may become a Friend .

Full Member  £10 yearly, payable by bankers order (preferred)

Friend           £5   subscription/ donation for one year (renewable) 

Referees – two from Society Membership, which failing, on receipt of two acceptable recommendations, two Society Officebearers will usually sponsor.
